The company's location, which provides easy access to the Middle East, including the most populous Arab countries, comes as a major asset to any interested partner, as Jordan has emerged as a pharmaceutical hub in the region. For the past four decades the industry has grown into 18 companies exporting 70% of its products. The value of this export in 2008 was 328 MUSD, which equals 8% of all exports from Jordan. To further encourage the growth of this industry and promote investment, the Jordanian government has been active in various economic liberalization policies, as well as increasing transparency in its laws. One incentive includes the Bolar exemption allowing research and development work to be conducted prior to patent expiry.

To further advance the pharmaceutical industry Jordan has:

• Signed the Euro-Jordanian Partnership agreement on Nov. 24, 1997 
• Joined the World Trade Organization on April 11,2000
• Concluded the Jordan-USA free trade agreement on October 24, 2000
  
• And, has undertaken to ratify and implement the World Intellectual Property Organization's (WIPO) Copyright Traty
